By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Levi Lillienthal, Mary Schlimmer won the virtual Chiquibul Challenge half-marathon which was run from March 20 to March 31. While runners could have done the race anytime and anywhere during those 12 days, the organizers dedicated one day for the runners to do the half marathon on the San Antonio Road from Hode’s to Pacbitun in Cayo and quite a number of runners took them up on the offer.
Fifty-six participated, 32 men and 24 women.
In the men’s category, Lilienthal covered the 21.1 kilometres in 1 hour, 14 minutes and 46 second.
Schlimmer won the women’s run in 1:53:05.
