Forecasters predict above normal active 2021 Hurricane Season

By Zoila Palma: Weather experts are forecasting that the 2021 Hurricane season will be an ‘above-normal season.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season goes from June through to November.

Meteorologist Phil Klotzbach predicts 17 named tropical storms will form, eight of which will become hurricanes.

Last year, the Hurricane season saw 30 named storms, 13 of which were hurricanes.

If the season turns out to be abnormally active, it will be the 6th consecutive season.

Of the 8 predicted hurricanes, 4 are forecasted to become major hurricanes.

Last week, AccuWeather released its hurricane forecast predicting that 16 to 20 named storms would form, of which seven to 10 will become hurricanes.

The first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season will be Ana, followed by Bill, Claudette, Danny, Elsa, Fred, and Grace.
