Central Bank receives new Governor

By Zoila Palma: The Central Bank of Belize has reportedly received a new Governor.

Gustavo Vasquez was appointed by Prime Minister John Briceno on April 1.

Vasquez succeeds Joy Grant who has held the post since 2016.

Vasquez takes over as the Government is implementing a recovery plan to revive the economy following a recession and economic impacts by the COVID-19 pandemic.
