By Zoila Palma: Today, the Belmopan City Council hosted an Autism Awareness Walk in honor of World Autism Awareness month.
Councilor Pauline Tillett organized the walk and hosted a short ceremony before the event.
Councilor Tillett welcomed everyone and extended her heartfelt appreciation to all who took the time to share their Saturday morning in support of autism awareness.
During the ceremony, Patricia Sebastian, Special Education Officer in the Ministry of Education also spoke about the importance of autism awareness.
Other participants included Belmopan Area Representative, Oscar Mira, Mayor Sheran Palacio, Deputy Mayor Guadalupe Chicas, parents, and supporters of autistic persons, the Scouts Association, and the Belmopan City Council Child Advisory Body.
The Belmopan City council extended its appreciation to the Belmopan Police Formation, the Belmopan City Council Traffic Department, the Western Regional Health Service, and the Belmopan Fire Department.
