Posted: Sunday, April 11, 2021. 9:40 am CST.

The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) issued another heat warning today as hot and dry weather conditions are expected throughout the country today, with inland temperatures forecast to exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly sunny skies today and partly cloudy skies tonight. Hot weather will prevail with little to no rainfall expected, except for the chance of an afternoon thunderstorm developing over the Maya mountains.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 102 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 94 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 81 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 76 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 72 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be blowing East-Southeast between 10-20 knots, and the sea state will be moderate.

“A heat alert is in effect and therefore, residents, especially those living in the interior, of the country, are advised to remain hydrated and avoid outdoor activities as much as possible,” the Met Service said.

High tide will come in at 9:37 a.m. and low tide will occur at 4:13 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:08 p.m. and the moon will rise tomorrow at 6:06 a.m.
