By Aaron Humes: A teenager was injured by gunfire late Sunday evening, leading police to capture his assailant.

Nineteen-year-old Denvoy Bartley was walking on Banak Street behind Habet and Habet, headed toward Central American Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. when someone fired at him several times. He fled into a yard on Cedar Street to take shelter

Police Special Patrol were in the immediate area and quickly snared the suspect, who was found with the alleged weapon used in the incident nearby as well as a dropped magazine. He was shot once to the right little finger while Bartley was also injured.

The suspect was treated in hospital and then discharged to police custody where he remains, awaiting charges.
