Seasonally hot and dry conditions prevail, supporting mostly sunny skies and dry, hot conditions today and partly cloudy skies tonight. Little to no rainfall is expected except for a chance of an isolated thunderstorm over the mountains this afternoon.
A heat alert is in effect and residents especially of inland areas are advised to stay hydrated and avoid too much outdoor activities.
High temperatures are 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 102 inland and 91 in the hills, going down to 81 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 75 inland and 70 in the hills tonight.
Winds are from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots. Sea state is moderate. A small craft caution may go into effect tonight for occasional gusty winds and rough seas.
Tides will be high at 10 a.m. this morning and 10:51 p.m. this evening and low at 4:51 p.m. this afternoon. The Sun sets at 6:08 p.m. this evening and rises at 5:38 a.m. Tuesday.
Mainly fair and warm weather continues through Tuesday with a slight chance for brief isolated morning showers.
