By Aaron Humes: The National Meteorological Service forecasts continued hot and dry weather conditions countrywide.
It will be mostly sunny and hot today, clear to partly cloudy tonight. There is a chance of an isolated thunderstorm developing over the mountains this afternoon and isolated showers or thunderstorms over the South tonight.
High temperatures are 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 98 degrees inland and 84 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight, temperatures will rise to 81 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 75 inland and 68 in the hills.
A HEAT ALERT IS IN EFFECT. RESIDENTS, ESPECIALLY THOSE INLAND, ARE ADVISED TO STAY HYDRATED AND AVOID OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
Winds are from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots and gusty; sea state is choppy to rough. A SMALL CRAFT CAUTION IN EFFECT FOR OCCASIONALLY GUSTY WINDS AND LOCALLY ROUGH SEAS.
High tide is at 10:25 am and 11:27 p.m. and low at 5:28 p.m. The Sun sets at 6:08 p.m. this evening and rises at 5:37 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Continued warm and dry weather is expected through Wednesday.
