Eighty-two percent of healthcare workers have been vaccinated

Posted: Saturday, April 17, 2021. 9:03 am CST.

By Zoila Palma: During an interview with the media yesterday, Minister of Health and Wellness, Michel Chebat informed that 82% of healthcare workers in Belize have received their first shot of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

About 48% of those persons 60 years and over in the country have also received their first dose.

Chebat says that health centers countrywide are not denying vaccinations and are encouraging everyone to get vaccinated when their time comes.

Those in phase 3A and B are also reminded to visit their nearest health center to get their shots.

Those include members of the BDF, Fire service, Red Cross, Coast Guard, and persons with 50 years and over with co-morbidities.
