The total number of recoveries due from the virus, as of 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021, stood at 120,144,695. This represents a global recovery rate of 98 percent of all closed cases. Notably, 3,026,891 (2 percent of closed cases) have died from COVID-19.
There are currently over 18.5 million active cases, with 107,158 (0.6 percent) listed as serious/critical cases.
The United States, the hardest-hit country in the world by the pandemic, has recorded over 32.3 million cases and 580,756 deaths.
India now the second-hardest-hit country, has recorded over 14.8 million cases, with over 100,000 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Brazil, the third-hardest-hit country has recorded over 13.9 million cases and 371,889 deaths.
