Planned power outage in effect for Ambergris Caye

By Benjamin Flowers: There is a planned power outage in effect for Ambergris Caye that will last all morning and a portion of this afternoon.

Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) said that the outage, which will affect the entirety of Ambergris Caye, began at 7:00 a.m. and will run until 3:00 p.m.

“BEL to conduct maintenance of equipment at the San Pedro Substation and to relocate utility pole in the area,” BEL said.

Residents are reminded that there is a heat warning in place from the National Meteorological Service of Belize encouraging residents, especially those inland, to keep hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible.
