Special Envoy for Development of Women and Families visits Governor General

By Zoila Palma: On Monday, April 19, 2021, Rossana Briceño, Special Envoy for the Development of Women and Families, made a courtesy visit to Colville Young, Governor-General of Belize.

The Special Envoy discussed the needs of her office and potential areas in which the Office of the Governor-General can assist.

Special Envoy Briceño also thanked the Governor-General for his recent donation of BZ$5,000 towards the commencement of programs under the Office of the Special Envoy.

The Governor-General encouraged the Special Envoy to seek partnerships with the citizenry and business community to support the work of her office.

In addition, the Governor-General and Special Envoy discussed Sir Colville Young’s legacy over the last 28 years.

“His legacy will live on and he will be fondly remembered for his contributions to music, literature and education,” a statement from the Special Envoy said.
