Government to launch COVID-19 emergency business financing program to assist businesses with low interest loans

By Zoila Palma: Prime Minister John Briceno shared on his Facebook page excerpts from the new budget for fiscal year 2021-2022.

PM Briceno said that Government with support from the Central Bank, will launch the Covid-19 Emergency Business Financing Program.

The program will provide $50m of low interest loans for up to 200 business, prioritizing export and job-intensive enterprise. Those loans will be for 5 years, at 5% interest, for small, medium and large companies.

“Aiming to alleviate some pressure off of those businesses hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. This will also allow for some jobs to come back as well as get the economy rolling,” Briceno said.
