Members of the Belize Association for Persons with Diverse Abilities escape vehicle fire unharmed

By Benjamin Flowers: Yesterday, members of the Belize Association for Persons with Diverse Abilities (BAPDA) managed to escape a vehicle fire on the George Price highway unharmed.

BAPDA President Roxanne Marin explained that she was with the association’s vice president and another remember when the vehicle started making a strange sound.

They pulled over to the side of the road to investigate the mechanical problem when the vehicle suddenly burst into flames near Mile 27.

Marin said that they alerted the Belize Fire National Fire Service, however they never arrived and the vehicle was completely destroyed by fire.

The incident also caused a bush fire which spread for some distance, assisted by hot and dry weather conditions.
