Over 1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered worldwide

By Zoila Palma: Over 1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered worldwide as nations around the globe try to contain the spread of the virus.

The Associated French Press reports that 1,002,938,540 doses have been administered in 207 countries.

This is as the World Health Organization (WHO) through its COVAX facility is ensuring that lower-income countries also have access to the COVID-19 vaccines.

More than half of the total amount of vaccines have been administered in 3 countries: the USA, China, and India.

In Belize, 39,330 people have received their first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
