By Benjamin Flowers: In a bid to attract more tourists, the Government of Grenada is rolling out new relaxed COVID-19 quarantine measures for travelers who are vaccinated, Carib Journal reports.

The new measures, which are scheduled to take effect as of May 1, will limit the mandatory quarantine time for tourists to only 48 hours for vaccinated travelers, while non-vaccinated travelers will be required to quarantine for up to seven days and take a PCR test on day five.

All travelers with or without vaccinations will still have to show a negative test within 72 hours prior to arrival in Grenada, and have to cover the cost of the PCR test taken on the island.

“Grenada considers travelers fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose of a two-dose vaccine like AstraZeneca, Pfizer or Moderna, or two weeks after a single dose like Johnson & Johnson,” Carib Journal said.

Easing quarantine restrictions for vaccinated travelers is a growing trend in the Caribbean with destinations like Anguilla and Barbados implementing similar measures. Notably, Belize is the only country in the region that has waived testing requirements for fully-vaccinated travelers.
