Stolen Hilux abandoned during police chase in southern Belize

By Zoila Palma: A white Hilux that was stolen from the Golden Motel Inn in Punta Gorda on Monday afternoon was spotted by police shortly after.

Police say that they noticed the vehicle near miles 15 and 16 on the Southern Highway.

Authorities began to chase the vehicle but the driver abandoned it and escaped into some nearby bushes.

Police have since then recovered the vehicle.

Investigations are ongoing.
