United States to share 60 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine with other countries

By Zoila Palma: On Monday, the White House announced that the US will release 60 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to other countries, NPR reports.

The COVID-19 vaccine will be released as soon as it is cleared by the Food and Drug Administration.

About 10 million doses of the vaccine is ready to ship as soon as clearance is given.

The AstraZeneca vaccine has been widely used across Europe and around the world.

The commitment comes after intense pressure for the US to help other countries in their fight against COVID-19.
