Marlin weighing over 350 pounds caught in Belize

By BBN Staff: A 362 pound Marlin that was caught a few weeks ago by Breannah Musa and Brett Bowen is believed to be the 4th largest Marlin found in Belize, Corozal Daily reports.

A Marlin has a spear-like snout and an elongated body and the species are among the fastest marine swimmers.

“Please note this Marlin died during its fight. This sometimes occurs when a fish becomes tail wrapped on its first jumps and can’t swim against the drag,” the Corozal Daily said about the 362 pounds Marlin on a Facebook post.

Marlin fishing is considered by game fishermen in Belize to be a pinnacle of offshore game fishing.
