By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Levi Lillienthal and Ana López won the Step Up 5K for Autism run.
The Step Up 5k for Autism run held on Saturday was an open event and was won by Lillienthal in Maine in the United States and López in Esperanza, Cayo.
Lillienthal of the Splash Runners won the men’s category in 18 minutes flat.
Jordan Santos running for the San Pedro Triathlon team took second in a time of 19:10.
Ray Thompson of Grand Colony in San Pedro was third clocking 22:08.
Brazilian Mailson Moura of Team Jayson was fourth in 22:27 and Tyrone Harris of the Splash Running club finished 5th in 24:06.
Ana López of the Splash Runners won the women’s category in 21:47 and was third overall.
Wendy Sealy running in the United Kingdom was second in 22:35.
Third place was claimed by Splash Runners’ Blythe Thompson in Maine, USA, running the 5K in 24:02.
Ellie Simmons, also in Maine and running for the Splash Runners team, ran in fourth in 24:32 while fifth place was taken by Westrac’s Roxana Lemus in San Ignacio in a time of 25:09.
National and Central American heptathlon winner Katy Sealy ran in the UK. Clocking 28:43, Sealy finished in 8th position.
Of note, three Sealys ran in this event as David Sealy, also running in the UK, was 8th in the men’s category in 28:54.
In total, 29 runners took part in the Step Up 5K for Autism Run and 37 people donated to the cause.
