Belize Weather: Start of May should bring cooldown to some areas

By Aaron Humes: Warm and dry conditions continue, according to the National Meteorological Service.

The forecast is for sunny skies today and partly cloudy skies tonight. Except for isolated thunderstorms over the Maya Mountains this afternoon, little or no rainfall will develop.

High temperatures are 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 98 degrees inland and 84 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures will be 81 degrees along the coast, 76 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly at 10 to 20 knots; sea state is moderate.

Tides will be high at 11:48 a.m. and low at 7:30 p.m. The Sun sets at 6:12 p.m. this evening and rises Saturday morning at 5:27 a.m.

Isolated showers are expected to develop countrywide on Labour Day Saturday.
