Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosts 101 Annual General Meeting

By Zoila Palma: The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) hosted its 101 Annual General Meeting on April 29 via Zoom.

President Marissa Longsworth gave an overview and reported on BCCI’s accomplishments for the year 2020.

Longsworth highlighted the year 2020 as an anomaly and expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the members for working with the BCCI throughout the pandemic, the Executive Council, and the Secretariat for their hard work and dedication to the Chamber.

 BCCI’s Treasurer, Giacomo Sanchez, delivered the presentation and adoption of the 2020 Financial Statements and elaborated on the Chamber’s current financial position and the decisions that were made in the past year.

Prime Minister John Briceno was the guest speaker.

Briceno spoke on  “The potential in the midst of a pandemic: Opportunities for Growth & Productivity”.

“The BCCI, the largest private-sector organization, continues its dedication and commitment to its members, a commitment that remains fueled by our Triple C Philosophy to Connect, Capacitate, and Champion on behalf of the members of the business community,” the chamber said.

The chamber thanked all its members and says that it look forward to continuing the service to Belize.
