Governor-General Sir Colville Young bids farewell

By Aaron Humes: At a home he last occupied in the 1990s, the national viceroy, second of his position, ends his public career with a formal sendoff.

Governor-General Sir Colville Young has arrived at the former Government House, joining Prime Minister John Briceno, Leader of the Opposition Patrick Faber, Acting Chief Justice Michelle Arana, Cabinet Secretary Stuart Leslie and various dignitaries for a short ceremony to mark his departure from the post.

His will be the only speech today, fittingly on his day of honour, and there will be a reception thereafter.
