Belize Weather: Heat warning for interior as hot, dry conditions continue

Hot and mostly dry weather conditions prevail, according to the National Meteorological Service. It will be mostly sunny and very hot today, with showers if any being isolated and brief. Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected tonight with little or no rainfall. Residents, especially those inland, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible.

High temperatures will reach 92 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 102 degrees inland and 86 degrees in the hills. Tonight, it will be 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 76 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills.

Winds are from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots and gusty; sea state is moderate to rough. A small craft caution is in effect for occasional gusty winds accompanied by rough seas at times in large north to northeasterly waves.

Tides will be low at 8:40 a.m. this morning and 10:52 p.m. tonight, and high at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. The sun sets at 6:13 p.m. this evening and rises Tuesday morning at 5:25 a.m.

Outlook for Tuesday and Tuesday night is for continuing hot and mostly dry weather. Showers, if any, will be isolated.
