By Benjamin Flowers: The Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE), is hosting a virtual launch of the 2021 National Competitiveness Month (NCM) at 3:00 p.m. today.
The launch marks the fourth celebration of the annual event and is being observed under the theme “Facing Challenges and Forging Resilience through Business Diversification and Competitiveness.”
BELTRAIDE explained that NCM is a month-long series of activities aimed at strengthening competitiveness within the private sector through the government creating an enabling environment.
“The year’s activities centers around discussions with industry stakeholders and the public on how to remain resilient despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic through the creation of diverse business ideas and penetration of new and emerging sectors,” BELTRAIDE said.
The month of activities will also feature digital marketing training, ProNet Workshop for Exporters, Elevator Pitching for business and job applicants. BELTRAIDe notes that the activities will culminate with a Virtual Career Day with over 15 different companies seeking to fill over 200 job vacancies.
BELTRAIDE added that, as a statutory body under the Statutory Body under the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development & Investment, it continues to collaborate with regional partners such as Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA), Compete Caribbean, CENPROMYPE, along with other public and private sector partners to promote a thriving Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector.
