By Aaron Humes: Hot and dry weather prevails says the National Meteorological Service, supporting sunny skies today and partly cloudy skies tonight. Little or no rainfall will develop, except for the chance of isolated thunderstorms over inland areas this afternoon and isolated showers tonight.
High temperatures are 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 101 degrees Fahrenheit in inland areas and 86 degrees in the hills. Tonight, it will be 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 75 inland and 68 in the hills. Residents, especially those inland, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible.
Winds are from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots; sea state is moderate to rough. A small craft caution is in effect for occasional gusty winds accompanied by rough seas at times in large north to northeasterly waves.
Tides will be low at 10:12 a.m. this morning and at 11:54 p.m. this evening, and high at 4:28 p.m. this evening. The sun sets today at 6:13 p.m. and rises Wednesday morning at 5:25 a.m.
The extended outlook for Wednesday and Wednesday night is for continuing hot conditions with isolated showers or isolated thunderstorms.
