By Aaron Humes: The National Meteorological Service says seasonably hot and hazy conditions will prevail today then an increase in moisture is expected tonight and tomorrow.
The 24-hour forecast is for mostly sunny skies and hazy conditions today with isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms inland this afternoon, then cloudy spells tonight with a few showers and thunderstorms mostly in the south.
High temperatures are 92 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 100 degrees in inland areas; and 88 degrees in the highest elevations. Tonight, it will be 80 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills. Residents, especially inland are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible.
Winds are easterly to southeasterly at 10 to 20 knots and gusty; sea state is moderate to rough. A small craft caution is in effect for occasional gusty winds and rough seas, especially in large easterly waves.
Low tide occurs at 11:41 a.m., followed by high tide at 5:52 p.m. The sun sets at 6:14 p.m. and rises at 5:24 a.m. Thursday.
The extended outlook for Thursday and Thursday night is for a few showers and isolated thunderstorms over most areas but especially the south.
