Man charged for accident that caused the death of writer and businessman, Richard Harrison

By BBN Staff: Today, police charged Wilmer Kornelson,49, for the fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of writer and businessman Richard Harrison in February 2020.

Harrison was heading from San Ignacio to Belmopan when a delivery truck belonging to KT Enterprises and loaded with imported pine lumber was heading west to Spanish Lookout. Just as the truck drove around a curve, lumber began falling off the truck and a barrage of lumber fell on top of Harrison’s SUV causing the fatal accident.

Kornelson was charged with causing death by careless conduct, traveling without an attendant on the truck, and failure to secure a load with a chain.
