By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Minister of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MOA) Jose Abelardo Mai today visited the San Antonio Women’s Cooperative in San Antonio on Day 2 of his visit to the Cayo District.
The MOA said on Facebook that Minister Mai met with members of “The San Antonio Women’s Cooperative was founded in 2001 to preserve and promote traditional Mayan practices within the community. Earlier, Minister Mai presented a scale to the livestock farmers at Vaca Cattle Producer farm. The MOA said the cattle producers are located in the Waterhole area.
Yesterday, Minister Mai and a delegation of 40 members visited farmers in Springfield, Valley of Peace, and Barton Creek.
The delegation is comprised of international agriculture partners, technical staff, and operations staff of the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA).
Today Mai and his entourage also visited the Dan Lopez livestock and crops farm.
