Two Belize City teens leave home to workout and haven’t returned, families seek assistance in finding them

By Benjamin Flowers: The families of 15-year-old Chelsie Portillo and 14-year-old Marlene Castro are asking the public’s assistance in locating them.

The teens left their homes around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, en route to the Marion Jones Sporting Complex to work out, but have not been seen or heard from since.

Chelsie Portillo is described as being of Kriol descent, and fair complexion with an afro hairstyle. Portillo stands 5 feet 4 inches tall, is of medium build and weighs around 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pair of black leggings, a black t-shirt, and blue tennis shoes.

Marlene Castro is described as having a brown complexion with short, curly black hair, standing 4 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pair of orange and grey leggings, a 3/4 sleeve blouse of unknown color, and black tennis shoes.

Anyone with knowledge of their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 922.
