By BBN Staff: The Saving Ambergris Animals Humane Society (SAGA) during the 106th anniversary of “Be Kind to Animals Week,” is asking the public’s assistance so it can continue being a voice for homeless animals.
SAGA noted that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization has been grappling with record low adoptions and donations coupled with record-high surrenders and veterinary needs. The organization has also had difficulties providing for the animals in its care, as donations are also at an all-time low due to the economic downturn brought on by the pandemic.
“SAGA currently has over 60 animals available for adoption. Sheltering them costs approximately $2,000 – $2,500 USD/month (excluding normal veterinary costs such as spay/neuter, testing/vaccines, rehabilitation, etc.),” the organization said.
SAGA notes that it is a non-profit organization with a 501(3)(c ) tax-exempt status in the US. Its tax number is 31-1814113.
