Government not concerned with war in Mesopotamia but worried about war in Jerusalem!!!

By Shyne Barrow: Four (4) people were murdered in 5 days in Mesopotamia as a result of a gang war and we have heard nothing from the Government of Belize who was quick to put out a press release about the unrest in Jerusalem that has been happening since the beginning of time.

Why is our Government not concerned that a 17-year-old child, Gerald Tillet Jr, was executed as he rode his bike on Baghdad street? Why is the Government not alarmed that another 18-year-old boy was charged for that murder? That is two young lives lost. Where is the Minister of Youth? Where is the Minister of Police? Where is the Government Press release condemning genocide on the South Side? We don’t need to be concerned with the Middle East Africa. The Israeli-Arab conflict has been happening for generations. We have our own conflict in Mesopotamia to resolve.

Why is the Government not concerned that 2 middle-aged innocent working-class men, Raymond Garcia and Wayne Peteau were shot to death as they played dominoes, in retaliation 2 days later on the borderline of the Gaza? Not the Gaza where Hamas and Israel trade rockets, no, the Gaza on South Side of Belize City where the value for life is 0 and the conviction rate for murder is 2%.

Why is the Government not concerned that again last night Tyrone Young’s vehicle was showered with bullets as he drove in Afghanistan gang turf on Armadillo Street. He died instantly of gun shot wounds to the head. Another casualty of the war in Mesopotamia.

Our Government should show the same concern for the war happening in Mesopotamia that has taken 4 lives in 5 days as it is showing for an age old conflict on another continent.

When will the blood stop running in the streets of Mesopotamia? When will the bodies stop dropping on the Southside?

Children killing children and now they are killing middle aged innocent men. Yet silence from the Government of Belize.

There is a war in Mesopotamia and the Government doesn’t care, let them kill each other is what their silence says and all that I hear.
