San Pedro and Caye Caulker village councils sign “Sister Relationship” memorandum of understanding

By Zoila Palma: Today, Mayor of San Pedro Wally Nunez and Deputy Mayor Dianeli Aranda met with Caye Caulker Chairlady Seleny Villanueva-Pott and members of the Caye Caulker Village Council.

Mayor Nunez presented Chairlady Villanueva-Pott with a “Sister Relationship” certificate and signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Both councils agreed to collaborate in the areas of Sustainable Tourism, Sports and Promotion of Culture.

Mayor Nunez discussed the decision that was made pertaining to Caye Caulker’s Traffic Fees.

A statement from the council says that Mayor Nunes has informed Local Government that the Caye Caulker Village Council will now remain with the collection of all their traffic fees instead of it going to the San Pedro Town Council.

This will assist the council to be able to do more for their residents.
