By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Museum of Belize (NICH) is celebrating International Museum Day with a meme competition for high school students.

The International Museum Day is observed on Tuesday, May 18, under the theme ‘The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine.’

The Museum of Belize said it is calling high school students to create a meme using this year’s theme to show “How Cultural and Creative Workers are coping with COVID-19 pandemic.”

“Participants are invited to submit clever and creative memes to highlight the impact of the Corona Virus Pandemic on the Creative and Cultural sector of our country,” said the Museum of Belize.

The deadline for submissions is today, Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Memes are to be submitted to mob@nichbelize.org.

To participate, students must have a valid high school ID and must agree to allow the Museum of Belize to post and promote the meme on the Museum of Belize’s Facebook, Instagram pages and/or other media outlets for marketing and advertising purposes.

Images should be original, with no copyright infringement, restrictions, or water marks said the Museum of Belize (NICH).
