The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ vaccination campaign continues countrywide.

And on May 7, the World Health Organization (WHO) approved the emergency use of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines.

Belize had received a donation of 10,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccines in April from the United Arab Emirates.

The vaccine is produced by the Beijing Bio-Institute of Biological Products Co Ltd (BIBP), a subsidy of China National Biotec Group.

The Ministry says that it is now preparing to include the vaccine in its vaccination campaign.

The Ministry expressed its gratitude to the people and Government of the UAE for its donation to Belize.

“As a part of Belize’s COVID-19 response, the Ministry of Health & Wellness continues to collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and international partners to secure COVID-19 vaccines for the Belizean populace,” a statement said.

The Ministry continues to encourage the public to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones.
