By Benjamin Flowers: Police have formally arrested and charged three men in relation to a large drug bust made in Ladyville on Tuesday.

Ian Poot, 30, was charged with “supplying a controlled drug,” while John Edwin Bowen, 56, and Eustace Oswaldo Andrews, 43, were charged with “possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another.”

A special operation team in the vicinity of Scissors Tail Street noticed Bowen and Andrews carrying something from a freightliner, which was being driven at the time by Poot, and putting the object into an SUV.

When police made searches, they found 27 parcels of packaged marijuana, which amounted to 28.6 kilograms.

Poot is reportedly the nephew of former Deputy Prime Minister and current United Democratic Party Deputy Leader, Hugo Patt.
