By Zoila Palma: Authorities from 3 vaccination centers in Guatemala reported low influx of people, Prensa Libre reports.
The slow pace continues even after the Ministry of Health in that country launched its vaccination campaign.
However, health officials believe that the low turnout is partly due to the fact that people do not have information to when and where the vaccination centers are.
An official said that by noon today, only 250 doses were administered.
In addition, officials think that some people may be afraid of the side effects of the vaccine.
Guatemala had been administering the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
On May 17, the health ministry will commence to administer the Sputnik V vaccine from Russia.
