By Zoila Palma: Today, the Department of Youth Services (DYS) issued a statement saying that it endorses the candidacy of Dominique Noralez as Executive representative for the Commonwealth Youth Council.
“Dominique is a dynamic youth that has extended her service to youth development. Dominique’s introduction to DYS commenced in 2015 as a candidate for the Belize National Youth Council. Her victory earned her Vice-President of the Belize district youth council and first Vice-President of the national body. She later interned at our department with a focus on policy and planning,” DYS noted.
DYS says that Dominique supported and or lead through her capacity as a policy and planning officer for the following projects; the annual National Youth Awards, The Caribbean Young Leaders Youth Summit 2016, The World Youth Conference 2017, and Youth Mainstreaming in 2018. She was also a key player in the revision of the National Youth Policy 2018-2019.
The Department says that Dominique has represented youth on many regional and international platforms and they are proud of her participation and representation of Belizean youth.
“Dominique’s candidacy for executive regional representative paves the way for other youth in Belize wishing to contribute to youth development on a larger scale. She is a youth of integrity, zeal, and aptitude and we endorse her as an excellent fit for this role,” the department stated.
