Minister of Health and Wellness warns of fake social media profile bearing his name

By Benjamin Flowers: Today, Minister of Health and Wellness Michel Chebat, warned that there is a fake profile on social media purporting to be his, which is attempting to scam those it comes in contact with.

The profile bearing the name “Hon Micho Chebat” is reaching out to people attempting to gain their personal and banking information.

“Please do not give them your information and please report it and block it,” Chebat said via his official Facebook page this morning.

This type of social media scam is a common occurrence with several of these pages purporting to be those of government ministries, ministers of government, businessmen, or other prominent Belizeans.
