By BBN Staff: Grocery shoppers at New Flags Store on George Price Highway and Lily Drive, Santa Elena Town, for years have parked in front of the store or on the sides.

However, there has been a recent establishment of a Cayo Central Taxi Association and they have taken the immediate concrete side of the establishment to park their taxis.

Today, the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council issued a statement advising that drivers will not be allowed at the junction of Lilly Drive and the George Price Highway besides New Flags Super Store.

“Only the Cayo Central Taxi Association will be allowed to park at their designated area,” the council said.

The store has since also issued a statement saying that it paved the drainage section for customers to use as parking and it has been that way ever since.

“We are very very sorry and sad to tell you that the drainage we have paved and maintain cleansing for customers in use of temporary parking has been taken away by Cayo Central Taxi Association without notice and negotiation,” the store said.

The store is now advising customers to be careful when parking.

The store says that it will try to find a solution for its customers.
