Unions: ‘Government agreed only to four hours’ reduced work week’

Posted: Tuesday, May 18, 2021. 3:36 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The plan to reduce the work week dates from before consultations with Government, states Public Service Union (PSU) President Gerald Henry.

Henry said an analysis of the Government’s utility Bill’s over five years suggests savings can be found in starting the work day at 9 a.m. daily rather than 8 a.m.

But it has been lumped in with the compensation aspects and reduced to four hours, though this has been stated to be corrected.

The Unions, said Henry, want this commitment in writing.
