When will Ministers’ salary and allowances be cut?

Posted: Tuesday, May 18, 2021. 3:20 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The trade unions want to know when the Ministers’ salaries and allowances will be cut.

It has been claimed that Ministers have already given up 15 percent of salaries and 15 percent of allowances, but the unions want more.

PSU President Gerald Henry said in the case of telephone allowances, he makes calls in his telephone plan for $41 per month, far less than the $1,000 per month for the Executive.

Henry said additionally that as public officers they have no control over expenditure or revenue and so the targets set by Government are not realistic.
