Oscar Quiroz, Jafari Castro compete against each other in San Ignacio & Santa Elena’s cycling race on Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Smart’s Oscar Quiroz and PROJECT BZ’s Jafari Castro who won the first two races will be hitting the Cayo streets on Sunday in the second cycling race organized by San Ignacio & Santa Elena’s town councilor Zahir Figueroa.

Riders like Angel Tzib, Wasani Castro and Henry Li will also be competing to win the third race this Sunday morning.

The San Ignacio-Santa Elena race starts at 7 a.m. on Sunday, said Figueroa. Taking off in front of Recino’s Imports on La Loma Luz Boulevard, the riders will go to the BIG H Factory and back ten times for a total of 35 miles.

Quiroz won the second Sunday race organized by San Ignacio/Santa Elena town councilor Zahir Figueroa on May 16. Li of PROJECT BZE was 2nd and Josh N. Fuller 3rd.

Renan Codd won the Junior Category, Dalvin Cowo took the Amateur Division, and Tyler Tejeda was the Youngest Rider that day.

Jafari Castro of PROJECT BZE won the first race two weeks ago on May 9. His brother Wasani Castro also of PROJECT BZE was 2nd and Angel Tzib of Westrac finished 3rd.

The 1st Junior rider was Renan Codd. Jamid Martinez finished as the 1st Amateur rider while Tyler Tejeda was the Youngest rider to finish.
