By Zoila Palma: Today, Galen University and the Ministry of Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform signed a memorandum of understanding for a good governance, transparency and ethics curriculum.
The curriculum was initially created by the Love Foundation through an initiative funded by a CARSI grant.
During the ceremony today, US Political officer at the U.S. Embassy in Belize, Alan Flesch said that the US Government is backing Belize’s commitment to good governance.
“The US Government is backing Belize’s commitment to good governance. The public must be a part of any solutions that will help and improve public trust and eliminate corruption. We believe that this will bring us closer to fostering citizen security and good governance. CARSI has given $9.4 million in grants to non-government organizations including the Love Foundation to build citizen participation and increase transparency and ensure that government services are responsive to everyone,” Flesch said.
On behalf of the US Embassy, Flesch congratulated Galen University and the Ministry for taking this step.
