Agriculture tour of Corozal starts at Quality Shrimp Farm

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise tour of the Corozal District started this morning at the Quality Shrimp Farm in Estrella.

Quality Shrimp Farm produces about 50,000 pounds of shrimp per month, the majority of which is for the export market. The company does the packaging at a shrimp farm in the southern part of the country but is now building its own packaging plant.

From Estrella, the tour goes to a vegetable farm in the village of Concepcion.

Afterward, the agricultural staff goes to San Joaquin to visit the agro-processing farm of Gladys Magaly Lopez.

The final stop will be at Sarteneja this afternoon where Minister Jose Abelardo Mai will visit an apiculture farm. He will also be making a presentation to farmers of the area.
