Teenage murder victim ambushed while fixing vehicle

By Aaron Humes: Police continue to investigate the mid-afternoon murder of 19-year-old Stephan Charles Castillo of Emma Street, Belize City.

Castillo was at a mechanic shop on Fabers Road Extension on Thursday afternoon to fix his scooter.

A maroon sport utility vehicle (SUV) stopped at the side of the road and two armed men exited and began firing at Castillo, who was pinned and helpless to avoid the assault.

Castillo died almost immediately upon arrival at hospital. Police have since recovered the vehicle believed to have been used in the incident as well as the suspected murder weapon still loaded with live rounds in an empty lot. However, no suspects or motive have been established.
