Belmopan taxi man ambushed by armed motorcyclists

By Aaron Humes: It was an apparent murder on wheels on Saturday night as gunmen claimed the life of Nicholas Moodie, 24, of Toucan Avenue, Belmopan.

Moodie was driving his red Toyota Corolla up Intelco Hill when several men on separate motorcycles approached and opened fire.

Eight shots were heard and Moodie threw his vehicle in reverse, trying to escape, but he ended up crashing on the side of the road in some bush.

Moodie was rushed to hospital and died while undergoing treatment. Police recovered the vehicle with windshield damage and blood inside.

Investigations continue.
