Belize Weather: A wet holiday Monday for most

By Aaron Humes: On this Commonwealth Day Monday, the National Meteorological Service forecasts cloudy spells with a few isolated thunderstorms and showers, especially in southern areas.

High temperatures are 84 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 88 degrees inland, and 74 degrees in the hills. Tonight, it will be 78 degrees along the coast, 73 inland, and 66 in higher elevations.

Winds are easterly at 10 to 20 knots and the sea state is choppy.

Tides will be high at 7:47 a.m. and 9:11 p.m. and low at 2:53 p.m. The sun sets at 20 minutes past six this evening and rises Tuesday morning at 5:18 a.m.

Similar weather conditions are expected to prevail on Tuesday.
