COVID-19 deaths in India surpass 300,000

By Zoila Palma: India has become the 3^rd country in the world to surpass over 300,000 COVID-19 deaths.

The country reported 4454 more deaths today and follows Brazil and the United States in death toll.

There were over 220,000 new cases of COVID-19.

The country continues to grapple with a deadly second wave of the virus and there is growing concern of the spreading of the virus in rural communities as well.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been criticized by the international community for not doing enough to deal with the pandemic.
