Several detained in connection with murder of Marcus “Chippy” Tracy

By Benjamin Flowers: An altercation at a social event on Saturday proved fatal for Marcus “Chippy” Tracy, of Punta Gorda Town, and authorities have detained several people trying to determine who was ultimately responsible.

Tracy, 60, was found dead on Saturday with several chop wounds to his body.

Police say that they have not yet determined the nature of the altercation, only that threats were issued during the exchange. Police also said that alcohol consumption may have been a factor in the altercation. Despite detaining several people, police have not formally charged anyone for his murder.

Investigations continue.
